I've been playing as a sideman and solo sax for a number of years. While I've always enjoyed playing guitar, writing and singing, my saleable skills were on the sax. About three years ago, I dsicovered that I had reached a point in life that I shuld document these things. The technology finally came around that releasing songs was not as an expensive proposition as it had been. I was able to produce at home, without audio engineers telling me the "correct" way to do things. Making the music avaiblable to the public also became easier through the aggregators and online download stores. While this may present a problem to majors in terms of revenue, it was what I had been waiting many years for.
The Despicable Little Man was something a friend of mine called me once after I was describing what I thought were normal observations and experiences of the sometimes skewed world I was living in. I was a little bit crazy and had lost track of what was important in life.
I do all my own work at this time, except for adding vocalists as needed. I've had some great contributions in that department from Russian Beauty Blogger Blondy Candy, Chloe Domange (Love Goes On is featured in her film "40 Sundays") and Rayko, the fine vocalist for Dig Jelly.
Everything is produced at this time on my Mac using Live, Logic Pro, sparsely Digital Performer and Reason. Occasionally I grab some sounds from a Triton Rack. Some other software involved is the IK Multimedia T Racks, Sample Tank.
Some of my tools are tenor and alto sax, guitar and keyboard.
I write songs about expereinces and impressions. It dawned on me by the shocked look on people's faces as I talked about some things I had seen, done or been through, that my outlook might be slightly skewed. I think from looking and listening to this music I have a somewhat dark outlook on things. Or maybe a dark introspection.
My voice has never been my strong suit, but it has become increasingly important to me that it is heard.
Photography has always been an interest of mine, and I have some skills in photretouching and video editing.
Best to you!
